Objects

Michał is a self-taught artist. All of his works are created in a homespun atelier he calls “The Woodshed” (Szopa).
The collection includes hundreds of drawings, figurines, paintings, reliefs, and other curiosities, all woven together into a coherent universe. Every face is a person, each with a name, an identity, a written history, and a role to play.
He’s transforming Objects into Subjects.
Michał revealed that he once dreamed the figurines surrounded him, addressing him as “Father.” They are his “children.”
“I like to burn in wood because it calms me. I love the smell of wood, the forest after the rain, and the scent of burning wood. That’s why I love the pyrography pen.”
