From the very first exhibition, we began meticulously documenting Michał Walczyk's artistic journey. This ongoing film project aims to provide an intimate and comprehensive look into the creation of Pan Miś's Planet.
We have amassed approximately **12 hours of footage** so far, including:
In-depth interviews with Michał's family, friends, and key figures surrounding the project.
Fly-on-the-wall observations capturing spontaneous moments and the atmosphere of the "Szopa".
Documentation of every official exhibition trip and event.
A significant part of this journey included a visit to the **Zdzisław Beksiński Museum** in Sanok (learn more - future link), a profound experience for Michał given his admiration for the master.
Capturing Unrepeatable Moments
The strength of this production lies in its directness and the capturing of unique, unrepeatable moments. We filmed Michał's interactions, such as his inspiring encounters with disabled students, showcasing the authentic connection his art fosters.
Our goal is to ensure that Michał's entire official artistic path is thoroughly covered, preserving the raw and unfiltered reality of his world.
The Director & Vision
The film is being co-created by a director known for the documentary **"Ucieczka do Alcatraz"** ("Escape to Alcatraz"), which chronicled the vibrant street basketball scene in Wałbrzych (see director's work - TBC).
This documentary aims to be more than just an artist's portrait; it seeks to explore the universal themes present in Pan Miś's work – resilience, imagination, and finding one's voice against the odds.
