A work made to order
Michał has made two figurines for collectors. This is how the cooperation went.
Twice, collectors wrote to the project themselves and ordered a work. The Polish Pirate was made in January 2025, the Beggar Thief in May 2026. Both commissions were a pilot for us: with them we worked out the way of working described below.
The art is Michał’s. Contact with the collector, translations and documentation are handled by Maciej. The packaging is made by Dawid.

What the cooperation involves
Four fixed elements
-
Constant contact
We stay in touch with the collector for the whole time. They know what stage their work has reached.
-
Michał tells the story
At successive stages Michał records short videos and says himself what he has just done and what comes next. We translate these recordings into the collector’s language.
-
Reports from the studio
The creative process is filmed and photographed: from the board and the sketch to the last corrections.
-
Packaging for the work
Every work gets its own packaging, made specially for it.
Who the figurine portrays is Michał’s decision. For the finished work he writes a description of the character by hand, as he does for all his works. The collector receives this description with a translation.
Two examples
2025 and 2026

January 2025The Polish Pirate
The first commission. A linden-wood figurine, catalogue no. 573. The photographs of the work are dated from 10 to 21 January 2025. It received a wooden box with Michał’s sketch on the lid.
„A został piratem jak stracił lewą dłoń. Pomógł małej małpce i teraz [ona] jest jego przyjacielem.”
“He became a pirate when he lost his left hand. He helped a little monkey and now [she] is his friend.” [our translation]

10 January. The sketch.
14 January. The shape cut out, the outlines burnt.
21 January. The finished figurine. -
May 2026The Beggar Thief
The second commission, catalogue no. 671. It was going to be another pirate, but Michał chose a different character: a beggar thief from Napoleon’s army. To the figurine he added a small table, a backpack, a sabre, a pistol and a hat, and then a whole scene with a wall, a road and water.
The work took from 3 to 23 May 2026. Here the packaging is a transparent display case.

Packaging
Made by Dawid, the project’s flight engineer
The packaging for commissions is made by Dawid, an ally of the project. For the Polish Pirate he made a wooden box with Michał’s sketch on the lid. The Beggar Thief stands in a transparent display case.
Dawid is our flight engineer. He looks after the electronics and moving parts in the Shed. He also helps Maciej as a programmer.
Michał made his portrait. It is Cyberpsychol Pląsek, catalogue no. 638:
„Polak był człowiekiem, sojusznikiem Pana Misia i szybkiego Maci brata Pana Misia. (…) Walczy z tym aby powróciło w nim człowieczeństwo. A dawni sojusznicy chcą mu pomóc w tym.”
“Polak was a human, an ally of Pan Miś and of fast Macia, Pan Miś’s brother. (…) He fights for his humanity to come back to him. And his former allies want to help him in this.” [our translation]
